Starting this winter, Pioneer Cottages will fund training for up to 20 Certified Nursing Assistants, 10 Trained Medication Assistants, and two Registered Nurses, thanks to a Home and Community-Based Services Scholarship Grant totaling $31,340 from the Minnesota Department of Health. The funding period for the grant is two years.
The CNA training will be held at M State – Fergus Falls through M State’s Workforce Development Solutions, preparing current employees at Pioneer Cottages to become CNA certified.
The TMA training will be held onsite at PioneerCare with curriculum provided by M State – Moorhead, preparing current Pioneer Cottages employees to earn TMA certification.
The grant will support two CNAs, currently working at Pioneer Cottages, in their pursuit to become RNs. The funding will cover tuition and fees, books, and placement test fees. Both plan to enroll at M State – Fergus Falls.
