Congratulations to our six recipients – Kaleb Knutson, Brittany Dahlen, Jenna Weigand, JoAnn Rudnick, Brenna Underhill, and Angie Pikop – for the latest round of PioneerCare Center Employee Scholarship awards totaling $18,100.
Brenna Underhill, currently a CNA at PioneerCare, is beginning the prerequisite courses needed for the RN program at M State-Fergus Falls.
Jenna Weigand, currently a CNA at PioneerCare, is entering the Practical Nursing program at Alexandria Technical and Community College.
Kaleb Knutson, also a CNA at PioneerCare receiving his second such award, continues his studies within the RN program at M State in Fergus Falls.
Brittany Dahlen, currently a LPN at PioneerCare, is pursuing her Professional Nursing Associate of Science (RN) degree through Rasmussen College in Moorhead.
JoAnn Rudnick, currently a LPN at PioneerCare, is beginning the RN program at Rasmusson College in Moorhead.
Angie Pikop, currently a LPN at PioneerCare and also a repeat award recipient, is beginning prerequisite courses for her ADN degree through M State – Fergus Falls.
“I know in my heart this is what I am called to do,” Brenna writes in her application. “I believe I am gifted in the area of caring for people…As I pursue this career path and Jesus Christ, I will become a nurse that people need in this world.”
PioneerCare awards scholarships to employees who wish to grow within their current positions or to expand their career opportunities within the organization. Valuing such growth in skills and knowledge, PioneerCare is dedicated to investing in eligible staff by providing funds to help pay for coursework completed through an approved, accredited educational institution. The scholarships may cover costs for tuition and fees, books, supplies, equipment, mileage, and related child care expenses,
The PioneerCare Center Scholarship Program was originally established with funds from the PioneerCare Foundation and continues with ongoing support from the Minnesota Department of Health. Additionally, PioneerCare’s Student Loan Reimbursement Program will make the payments for eligible, recent nursing graduates as long as they work at PioneerCare Center.
