PIONEER RETIREMENT COMMUNITY RECEIVES FUNDING APPROVAL
FOR NEW BUILDING PROJECT
Pioneer Retirement Community, Fergus Falls, recently received approval from the State of Minnesota for special state funding in construction of a new nursing home. The state awarded the funding through the Moratorium Exception Program following a formal application
process which took place late in 2007.
Pioneer CEO, John Richards, said “This is an exciting time for us to be able to continue the strong mission of Pioneer. It’s been the history of Pioneer to always give our best to the seniors in our care, and this new facility will allow us to even better serve our residents with the most updated amenities and technologies. We are very thankful to have this opportunity to present a new nursing home to the Fergus Falls community and the surrounding area.”
The original Pioneer nursing home was founded in 1928 and is home to 105 residents in Fergus Falls. The site for the construction of a new facility is planned adjacent to Pioneer Cottages, memory care housing on south Maybelle in Fergus Falls.
Construction of the new home should begin later this year.
