Building Features

PioneerCare Center was designed by Tremain Architects of Minneapolis. Construction was completed in the spring of 2011. Features and amenities in the new PioneerCare Center include:

  • 85 single rooms and ten semi-private rooms with private baths
  • An “outside-in” feeling through natural lighting, indoor gardens and atrium
  • Household living environments with residential-scale kitchens and living spaces
  • Social space, like the Celebration Center, with community interaction opportunities
  • Expanded Pioneer ShortStay and Pioneer Therapies areas
  • Flexible space that adapts to people’s changing needs
